Mahindra is doubling down on its electric push, and has confirmed that two new electric SUVs, the BE 07 and BE 09, are on the way for the Indian market. Both of the models are built on its dedicated INGLO EV platform. Mahindra already has three purpose-built EVs on sale, but these two upcoming models signal the next phase of expansion in its electric lineup.
BE 07: A Practical Mid-Size Electric SUV

The BE 07 is expected to arrive in 2027, slightly later than earlier projections. Unlike the sharper, more radical BE6, the BE07 sticks to a more conventional SUV shape. No coupe-style roof here, this one keeps things upright and family-friendly. Dimension-wise, it sits firmly in the mid-size space:
- Length: 4,565 mm
- Width: 1,900 mm
- Height: 1,660 mm
- Wheelbase: 2,775 mm
That makes it larger than rivals like the Hyundai Creta Electric in overall footprint
and wheelbase, which should translate into more cabin space. Mahindra is positioning the BE 07 as a practical electric SUV aimed at families.
Expect a generous interior room, a usable boot, and the kind of feature list already seen in its newer EVs: large digital screens, connected tech, premium trims, and advanced driver assistance systems. To keep pricing competitive, Mahindra is likely to offer two battery options, 59 kWh and 70 kWh. This approach would allow the brand to target multiple price points while maintaining strong range figures.
BE 09: A Larger Electric Grand Tourer

The BE 09 will take a different route. It’s expected to be a coupe-style electric SUV, or what Mahindra calls a “grand tourer.” Built on the same INGLO architecture, it is likely to be positioned above the XEV 9E in the lineup.
While detailed specifications haven’t been revealed, the BE 09 is expected to be bigger and more premium, with a sharper design language and a stronger road presence. Given its positioning, it can also get a battery pack larger than the current 79 kWh unit used in Mahindra’s upper-end electric models.
The idea seems to be clear. This one is being shaped for people who care about comfort on long drives, strong performance when they need it, and a cabin that feels a step above the usual. It is not just about getting from point A to point B, but enjoying the drive along the way. There is still no confirmed launch date, though it may reach the market sometime around 2027 or 2028.
Strengthening Mahindra’s Electric Strategy

Both SUVs will be built on Mahindra’s INGLO skateboard platform, which has been developed specifically for electric vehicles. In simple terms, this setup gives the company more freedom. It can adjust battery sizes, tweak the drivetrain layout, and change overall dimensions without starting from scratch each time.
With these two models, Mahindra is clearly thoughtfully expanding its electric lineup. One is expected to focus on being a practical mid-size family SUV, while the other is likely to lean more towards a larger and more premium grand touring experience.
Competition in India’s electric SUV market is only getting stronger. In that context, the BE 07 and BE 09 could end up playing a key role in defining what the next phase of Mahindra’s EV journey looks like.
